A grounded approach to counselling and psychotherapy...

birdcage walk 3I am a fully qualified and experienced counsellor and psychotherapist; I have been working as a counsellor for twelve years and I have been professionally registered as a psychotherapist with the UKCP (United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy) since 2006. I am centrally located in Bristol near Whiteladies Road, on the borders of Clifton (BS8) and Redland (BS6).

I offer a constructive, grounded approach in a safe and confidential environment, with the aim of helping people to explore and gain clarity on various aspects of their lives, to resolve problems and to find new ways forward.

I work with people on a wide range of issues. These may be specific and definable such as problems with moods and emotions; difficulties in relationships; addictive and compulsive behaviours; choices and dilemmas; or coming to terms with change and loss. (For a full list of issues that I deal with, see below.)

People also bring problems that are more difficult to define - a sense of confusion about their lives and about who they are, a lack of direction, a loss of meaning or joy in living, difficulties in relating to others, or concerns about identity or sexuality.

My endeavour is to work with my clients in a way that respects who they are and their situation in life. I acknowledge that everyone who comes to counselling or therapy brings with them a unique set of circumstances, background, values and beliefs. It is this that sets the framework for the work we do together.
